meet elizabeth b.
I am truly honored that you would take the time to learn more about me and my love for clay!
I was blessed to recieve a degree in Fine Arts from Clemson University in 2000. I studied several art disciplines including painting, figure drawing, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. After graduating I spent over a decade painting and drawing ( and had five beautiful children! ). In the spring of 2013, I was reunited with clay! I dedicated 2013 to exploring the media by building with slabs, molding on my pottery wheel, experimenting with glazes, and learning to fire my own kiln. In the spring of 2014, I took a leap and launched Elizabeth b. Ceramics!
My home studio is nestled in the woods of South Carolina. I love every part of the process that clay goes through, from the initial lump of raw clay, to the molding and making, to the glazing and designing, and to the final firing in the kiln. All of my pieces are one of a kind and each piece is made by hand from start to finish. The majority of my work is thrown on the pottery wheel.
I currently travel all around South Carolina participating in different art shows and festivals. I count it an honor and a blessing to be able to meet and interact with people who choose to make my pieces a part of their lives, and I thank God daily for leading me to a media that I am so very passionate about.
If you are interested in seeing my pieces in person my show schedule can be found
on my SHOW SCHEDULE page. My work can also be found at Brookgreen Garden Gift Shop in Murrells Inlet, SC.
Maybe I will meet you somewhere on the road!
